"You’re in a Room" is a compressed depiction of a bedroom. With this piece I’m reflecting on my relationship
with homes after living in many that have not been my own. I create a human habitat
that is natural in the sense that it’s outside and made from things that are supposed
to house us, yet unnatural because the viewer can’t interact with it. Comfort is commonly
associated with bedrooms, the use of found furniture shows the distance in my relationship
between physical homes. However, I feel that spiritually all the places I’ve lived
come together to shape my identity for the better.
