This is my personal idea of Christ, who was born as Mary. I wanted to show her transition from someone lost to someone holy. I also wanted to display a moment when Jesus talks with a prostitute. Finding community when you are the other is what keeps us alive. I chose to work with clay because being transgender is as ancient and as sacred as the wall paintings that the first humans left us. 

There is divinity in changing yourself.
