Academic Calendar and Important Dates - 2019-2020: Fall Semester

Thursday, August 15	New High School students arrive for orientation
Saturday, August 17	Returning High School students arrive for orientation
Monday, August 19	High School classes begin
Wednesday, August 21	High School academic classes held
Friday, August 23	High School Convocation and Experience Day
Monday, September 2	Labor Day; no classes held; offices closed
Wednesday, September 11	High School in-service (12:30-4:30pm)
Saturday, October 5	SAT administered at UNCSA
Friday, October 11	Midterm progress reports available to students and parents
Saturday-Tuesday, Oct. 12-15	Fall Break; High School residence halls close Saturday, Oct. 12 (noon), and reopen on Tuesday, Oct. 15 (noon).
Wednesday, October 16	PSAT/NMSQT administered at UNCSA for all 11th grade students
Friday-Sunday, October 25-27	Family Weekend (Parent-Teacher conferences and other events)
Wednesday-Sunday, Nov. 27-Dec. 1	Thanksgiving Holiday; no classes held; offices remain open Wednesday; High School residence halls close Wednesday, Nov. 27 (noon) and reopen on Sunday, Dec. 1 (noon).
Tuesday, December 3	Last day of High School academic classes
Wednesday-Saturday, Dec. 4-6	Academic final exam period
Friday, December 20	Last day of Arts classes

Sunday, January 12	High School and College Residence Halls reopen (noon)
Monday, January 13	Classes resume; students check in at their Arts Schools
Monday, January 20	Martin Luther King Jr. Day; no classes held; offices closed
Wednesday, February 12	All campus in-service (8:00am-noon)
Friday, March 6	Midterm progress reports available to students and parents
Saturday-Sunday, March 7-15	Spring Break; no classes held; offices remain open Monday-Friday; High School residence halls close Saturday, Mar. 7 (noon), and reopen on Sunday, Mar. 15 (noon).
Monday, March 16	Classes resume
Monday-Friday, May 4-15	AP Exams
Wednesday, May 6	High School academic classes held
Thursday, May 7	Last day of High School classes
Friday, May 8	Exam review day
Monday-Wednesday, May 11-13	High School final exam period
Saturday, May 16	High School Commencement (10:00am); High School residence halls close Friday, May 15 for non-graduating students (6pm) and Saturday, May 16 for graduating students (4pm).
