Brett Sjoblom

Brett Sjoblom is a company dancer with Nashville Ballet, where he has performed since 2012. He received his training at The Boston Conservatory, earning a B.F.A. in Dance, where he studied modern techniques including Horton, Graham, and Limón, with a background in improvisation, contact improvisation, and choreography, as well as Alexander Technique. His training and professional experience have shaped his approach to both classical and contemporary movement, with a focus on versatility and adaptability across styles.

Throughout his career, Brett has performed an extensive range of contemporary repertoire and has been deeply involved in the creation of new works, frequently collaborating with choreographers and originating roles in numerous world premieres. He has worked with artists such as Paul Vasterling, Nick Mullikin, Matthew Neenan, and Jennifer Archibald, and has performed works by Val Caniparoli, Christopher Bruce, Cathy Marston, Justin Peck, Christopher Wheeldon, and Jiri Kylian. In addition to his contemporary work, he has performed principal roles in classical productions including "Romeo and Juliet," "The Nutcracker" and "Sleeping Beauty."

Alongside his performing career, Brett has extensive teaching experience, having served on faculty at the School of Nashville Ballet and as a guest instructor for summer intensives and programs. His teaching focuses on musicality, efficiency of movement, and a grounded, expressive approach to technique, with an emphasis on developing versatile, confident dancers.
