Social Media Takeovers
Social Media Takeovers
If you are taking over the official UNCSA Instagram account, please read the following dos and don’ts and complete the takeover request form below.
Dos and Don’ts
DO:
- Start with an introduction story: Introduce yourself and tell viewers what they are about to see using video or captioned photo.
- Make it fun! Feel free to include stickers, emojis, etc. and let your creativity shine.
- Use a good mixture of photos and videos in your story.
- Remember when you’re doing a video, the audio is defaulted on unless you turn it off.
- Keep it simple: Try not to do more than 12-14 Instas per story/event to maximize engagement.
- Go behind the scenes when possible – show our viewers something they might not normally get to see.
- Proofread before you click “Add to Story” – you can’t go back and edit misspellings.
- Most importantly: use good judgment. You are representing the university.
- End with a closing story and thank everyone for tuning in.
DON’T:
- Mention alcohol, drugs or tobacco products.
- Make political, social issue or religious references because UNCSA must remain neutral.
- Include materials of a sexually explicit nature.
- Use profanity or inappropriate hand signals.
- Share the university account with any other individuals.
- Reference or show on video any individual without their permission.
- Highlight other universities (this includes wearing their apparel).
- Use last names of students.
- Post any fundraising links.
- Shoot horizontal photos or video.
