Applications for Release from College Housing Requirement
Did you know that UNCSA has a policy which requires all college C1 and C2 students to live on campus? Students who have unusual circumstances may appeal to the Housing Review Board to live off-campus. Appeals are due by Feb. 15, 2024, via the UNCSA Housing Portal.
The circumstances may include medical or psychological needs or restrictions, as well as other conditions. The student must outline what their unusual circumstance is as part of the appeal process and provide written medical and/or other documentation to support the request.
Supporting documentation must be attached to the application form for release from the requirements. Such documentation should describe in detail the medical condition, the time period of treatment and how living on campus may impact the condition. Applications received after the Feb. 15 deadline will not be considered.
The following students are automatically exempt from the requirement to live on campus and do not need to file this form:
- Students who are married or living with a dependent.
- Students who are domiciled with a parent within a 25 mile radius of the campus at the time of enrollment.
- Graduate students.
- Part-time students (less than 6 credit hours).
- College students who are classified as a CIII (juniors) or CIV (seniors).
- Students who are 21 or older or will be turning 21 during the fall semester.
- UNCSA High School graduates who are in their sophomore year.
