About Concurrence

Concurrence works across the sonic mediums of improvised and composed composition, in addition to manipulating samples from preexisting sonic variants. While Concurrence draws upon musical lineages rooted in jazz, funk, rap, etc., the collective adamantly refuses to be siloed by genre binaries.

Instead, Concurrence functions as dissolvers of rigid genre binaries which in turn reveal their ethos challenging depoliticized aesthetic notions. Rather, their broader discourse seeks to publicly remind and sustain that everything is situated in a series of political continuums.
