Documentary screening at IBTF Film Fest
"We Are, Because We Were" is a short documentary film featuring the Winston-Salem African American Archive and its mission to preserve the history of the Black community in Winston-Salem.
Funded by a grant from South Arts and produced by the School of Filmmaking METL program. Filmmaker Rodney Wilds, a graduate of the Wake Forest MFA Documentary Film program,
led the production team that included five UNCSA undergraduate film students.
Completed in May 2024, the film has been accepted into the International Black Theatre
Festival Film Fest. Screening venue and times are below. Please join us if you can!
