Why is accessibility important
Accessibility supports equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging (EDIB) at UNCSA. While there are federal and state laws that require higher education institutions to make their electronic and web content accessible, making our website and the documents it houses accessible allows everyone the ability to obtain and use its content and improves the user's experience.
Who benefits from accessible digital content?
Accessibile content allows a greater number of people access content. Here are some user characteristics to consider:
- Unable to see.
- Has dyslexia,
- Has low vision.
- Has a physical disability.
- Unable to hear or in a noisy environment.
- Using a mobile device.
- Limited bandwidth for internet connection.
- Limited time.
