Noel Callow Kirby-Smith is an emeritus faculty member of the UNCSA Division of Liberal Arts. She taught Writing and Literature from 1971-2002 and served in various other capacities in her three decades at UNCSA, including as Assistant Dean of the Undergraduate Academic program.
Knowing that many plays, dances, films, operas and other musical compositions originate with or are inspired by poems, stories or short dramatic works, Noel valued the opportunity to offer creative writing courses to performing arts students.
