Stacy Payne joined UNCSA in June 2019 as Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Media + Emerging Technology Lab (METL). Stacy has over fourteen years of experience in leadership roles with non-profit arts organizations. She leads METL’s tactical and strategic development plan through the establishment of a grants program, project and program development, and coordination with key campus personnel as well as the Advancement Ofﬁce. In addition, Stacy contributes as a project manager on METL initiatives such as the Immersive Storytelling Residency and the Future of Reality Summit.
Stacy is experienced in board management, marketing and communications, K-12 arts education, and community engagement programming. She brings long-term working relationships with national foundations and institutional funders such as Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Shubert Foundation, Fidelity Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, and National Endowment for the Humanities. She has raised over $25M for the arts by spearheading sustainability and capacity-building endowment campaigns. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in creative producing from UNCSA.
