Steve Martin is a seasoned facilities professional, bringing more than 18 years of experience in the UNC System in facilities maintenance, campus planning and construction management and is also a licensed architect.

  • Former Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities at Appalachian State University in Boone, with overall responsibility for facilities planning, design, construction, operations and development for the 486-acre campus
  • Former University Architect/Director for Planning Design & Construction at Appalachian State University
  • Former Assistant Vice Chancellor for Facilities at UNC Pembroke, where he oversaw the design and construction of projects totaling more than $136 million on 240 acres, including an $18 million, 479-bed residence hall
  • Former University Architect/Assistant Director for Facilities Planning and Construction for seven years
  • Formerly worked in Facilities Management at Fayetteville State University
  • Principal architect for the renovation to the North Carolina Aquarium at Roanoke Island
