My name is Fabian Allen Hamilton, and I am the casting director for the upcoming third-year film, Uncle Mac.

We will be filming from January 31st to February 2nd, 2026 in Winston Salem, North Carolina. This job is unpaid and non union.

Story

While visiting the home of his estranged sister, Julia, Mac discovers from his niece, Sophie, that Julia has fallen into a deep depression. Mac seeks to help them but fears that his sister may be a lost cause.

Character Breakdowns

Mac (mid to late 20s): The younger brother of Julia and uncle to Sophie.
He cares deeply about his family and worries about Julia. After a period of estrangement, he decides to check up on his family in an effort to rekindle their bond once more.

Julia (late 20s, early 30s): A woman struggling with severe depression. She finds it difficult to break the cycle of neglect and withdrawal that she has spiraled into once again. Despite this, Julia is doing the best she can to show up for her young daughter.

Sophie (10-12): Independent and free spirited, she has her mind set on making her mother a birthday cake from scratch. Sophie often pushes her own needs aside in an effort to please her mother.
