Enhancing our creative community through innovative programming.

The Kenan Institute for the Arts works to enhance the creative community on and around the UNCSA campus through community development and campus grant programs. Creative Campus programming empowers and engages artists and the wider creative sector to address issues such as equity, diversity and inclusion; urban and economic development; and civic engagement. 

Artpreneur Initiative

Since its inception in 2017, the UNCSA Artpreneur Initiative has provided graduating college students and alumni the opportunity to receive funding to support their creative works and enterprises deemed to be of the highest merit, artistic excellence or innovative potential.

Faculty Leadership Grants

These grants give UNCSA faculty extraordinary opportunities to explore new approaches to creative learning challenges; impact student learning outcomes; foster the capacity of faculty to lead; engage diverse stakeholders; and produce creative ideas, analysis, strategies and initiatives for further study or implementation.

Faculty Enrichment Grants
These small grants support the efforts of UNCSA faculty to augment student learning by subsidizing the costs of attend off-campus and virtual performances, exhibits and screenings. Faculty may apply for these grants throughout the year.
