Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging

UNCSA is committed to deeply embedding equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging into our values and actions to transform our campus into a welcoming and inclusive community for everyone. Our leadership will implement intentional and strategic efforts to tackle the systemic problems of racism and inequity in society, our institution and the entertainment industry.

Our institutional EDIB vision statement reflects our commitment to this work. This statement is endorsed by the UNCSA Board of Trustees, SGA, Faculty council, Staff council and Executive Cabinet.

At UNCSA, we strive to create a safe environment, one that allows people from all walks of life to thrive. Doing so demands that we commit to an explicit and continual process of identifying and dismantling systems and practices of bias, exclusion and oppression. Education and art making can be transformational forces for change and we are working so that change leads toward justice.

A Season of Change

The 2021-22 performance season was filled with rich programming that underscored the university's commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB). The arts schools showcased works by underrepresented voices, invited a variety of guest artists to our stages, and told compelling stories that help broaden our view of the world.
