Patricia Caicedo visits UNCSA, focuses on Spanish, Latin American art song

Spanish female with long hair and jeweled necklace in a black dressGuest artist Patricia Caicedo will visit UNCSA Oct. 25-28 to  present lectures related to her research of Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin American art song.

Caicedo is a soprano with a body of recordings on Spotify and YouTube. A well-known musicologist, she is also the founder of the Barcelona Festival of Song and is a leading authority on the development of art song in Spanish, Portuguese, and Catalan. Her insights into nationalism, music and societal health, and the recognition of women composers will be the foundation of her presentation to the UNCSA community. She has a Ph.D. in musicology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Medical Doctor's degree from the Escuela Colombiana de Medicina.
