The Office of Faculty Affairs emails notice of upcoming contract reappointment evaluation to the candidate and the Office of the Dean.

Non-binding Letter of Intent Due to Faculty Affairs

Faculty interested in rank promotion must submit the Letter of Intent for Rank Promotion to rankpromotion@uncsa.edu.

Contract Reappointment Evaluation with Rank Promotion Packet Due to Faculty Affairs

The candidate uploads their Contract Reappointment Evaluation with Rank Promotion Packet to Interfolio RPT.

Peer Review Committee Roster Due to Faculty Affairs

The Office of the Dean uploads the Peer Review Committee Roster for each candidate to Interfolio RPT.

External Reviewers Selected, Contacted, and Reviews Submitted to the Dean

This is the date range to complete the external review process.  The Dean’s Office needs to set deadlines with the external reviewers to ensure the external review letters are submitted so that they are available for the Dean’s review prior to writing the evaluation and meeting with the candidate.  Failure to secure external review letters will stop the candidate from moving forward in the process.

Peer Review Committee Evaluation Due to Faculty Affairs

The Peer Review Committee Chair uploads the Peer Review Committee Evaluation to Interfolio RPT.

Candidate’s Optional Response to the Dean Regarding the Peer Review Committee Evaluation for Contract Reappointment Due to Faculty Affairs

If the candidate opts to submit a response, it must be uploaded to Interfolio RPT within 7 calendar days from the date Faculty Affairs shares the evaluation with them.

Within 7 Calendar Days of Faculty Affairs Sharing Evaluation

Dean Meets with Peer Review Committee

The Dean meets with the Peer Review Committee to discuss its contract reappointment evaluation of the candidate.  There will be no discussion of the rank promotion evaluation.

Dean Meets with Candidate to Discuss Contract Reappointment Evaluation Only

The candidate’s contract reappointment evaluation, including external review letters (with rank promotion comments redacted), the Peer Review Committee’s evaluation for contract reappointment, and the Dean’s evaluation for contract reappointment are reviewed and discussed with the candidate.  There will be no discussion of the rank promotion evaluation.

The Office of the Dean provides copies of the aforementioned documents to the candidate and obtains the candidate’s signed Acknowledgement Statement verifying they have discussed the contract reappointment evaluation with the Dean and received the aforementioned documents.

Dean’s Evaluation, Final List of External Reviewers & Acknowledgement Statement Due to Faculty Affairs

The Office of the Dean uploads the Dean’s evaluations for contract reappointment and rank promotion, the Final List of External Reviewers, and the signed Acknowledgement Statement to Interfolio RPT.

Candidate’s Optional Response to the Provost Regarding the Dean’s Evaluation for Contract Reappointment Evaluation Due to Faculty Affairs

If the candidate opts to submit a response, it must be uploaded to Interfolio RPT within 7 calendar days from the date Faculty Affairs shares the evaluation with them.

Within 7 Calendar Days of Faculty Affairs Sharing Evaluation

Faculty Reappointment Advisory Committee Meetings 

In the case of a negative recommendation from the Peer Review Committee or Dean, the Provost will convene the Reappointment Advisory Committee to review the evaluation and act in an advisory capacity.

Provost’s Contract Reappointment Decision Due to Candidate

The Office of Faculty Affairs will share the Provost’s decision letter with the candidate via Interfolio RPT.

Faculty Rank Committee Recommendation Due 

The Faculty Rank Committee uploads the Faculty Rank Committee Evaluation to Interfolio RPT.

Provost Presentation of Rank Promotion Recommendations to Board of Trustees

The Provost presents rank promotion recommendations to the Board of Trustees and the Board votes on those recommendations.

May 2-3, 2024

 

Rank Promotion Decision Due to Candidate

The Office of Faculty Affairs will share the decision letter with the candidate via Interfolio RPT.
