SECU Family House

For adult patients and caregivers traveling to Forsyth County for healthcare. SECU Family House is a compassionate, comfortable alternative to a hospital waiting room or an expensive hotel for people facing the challenge of out-of-town medical care.

Volunteer opportunities: meal prep and serve (once COVID is over, meals can be prepared at SECU Family House again but for now, meals must be delivered and packed individually), yard work, house cleaning of common spaces, snack prep, making welcome bags, playing Bingo and other evening activities with guests, open to new ideas and groups of up to 10 people.

Other information: Most families stay for five days; there are common areas for guests and hosts to intermingle, but these are currently closed due to COVID; there are usually 35–40 guests.

Volunteer information: dinner is served at 5:30 p.m.; cleaning takes place between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
