Winston-Salem Symphony

Believing that music has the power to inspire, the Winston-Salem Symphony will fulfill this mission by enriching the community with live music. The Symphony brings performances, educational programs, and community engagement initiatives to where people live and desires for audiences to experience music in a way that is relevant and meaningful to their own lives. 

Instrument Zookeeper

Volunteer opportunities: administrative work (filing, data entry, mailings, flyer and brochure dropoffs, archiving materials, telephone support); music library support (filing, data entry, part preparation, inventory); front-of-house for performances (usher, greeter, program distribution, will-call/box office, liaison to school groups during full-orchestra educational concerts, supervising pre-concert activity tables during Discovery concerts); Instrument Petting Zookeepers (transport instruments, model sound production, supervise children as they try an instrument, sanitizing instruments between uses); classroom assistants for the P.L.A.Y. Music program (currently at Diggs-Latham, Jefferson, and Easton). 

Volunteer information: Application available year-round; if volunteering for an educational program, background check is required
