High School Orientation FAQs

This page provides answers to frequently asked orientation questions about High School Orientation at UNCSA.

Do my parents/family need to attend Orientation?

Parents and families are encouraged to attend specific sessions for parents and families during new student orientation.

When do I register for classes?

Students are pre-registered for classes prior to arriving on campus by UNCSA High School faculty. During New Student Orientation there is a Registration/Drop-Add session where students pick up their schedules and can make changes if necessary.

When will I receive info about on-campus housing?

Residence Life sends out housing information via your @artist.uncsa.edu email in mid-July when new students can begin the process for campus housing.

When and where can I purchase textbooks?

Textbooks used in high school academic programs are provided. Students may need to purchased books for their art classes. Those books can be purchased the virtual campus bookstore.

Are thre scheduled breaks during the Fall semester?

Does UNCSA offer a airport shuttle service?

The Office of Student Transportation provides scheduled shuttles to Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, NC (airport code GSO) during academic breaks: Fall, Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Break.

Student Transportation does NOT provide shuttles to Raleigh or Charlotte airports. Important: Student Transportation is not available to provide airport shuttles at the beginning/end of the academic year (August and May).

Can I have a car on campus?

Licensed High School Commuters may purchase a parking decal to park on campus. Residential High School student may not park on campus.
