Ahdi Horton

Ahdiayah Horton, is a violist from Spartanburg, South Carolina and a graduate of Florida State University, where she served as a graduate assistant to Dr. Pamela Ryan.

Over the past year, she taught at the Lawson Academy of the Arts through Converse University and led string sectionals in local public schools, sharing her expertise as a viola clinician and nurturing the next generation of musicians.

Ahdiayah has participated in festivals such as the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, where she studied with Tim Deighton and Jordan Bak and received chamber coaching from Bayla Keyes and Kevin Lawrence. She has also attended Chamber Music on the Hill and the Eastern Music Festival, working with Chauncey Patterson and Daniel Reinker. She has performed in masterclasses with distinguished artists including the Cavani Quartet, Jordan Bak, Nancy Buck, Susan Dubois, Shannon Thomas, and Philip Ying.

Inspired by her late grandmother—her lifelong supporter—Ahdiayah honors her legacy through her dedication to teaching and performing. She strives to make a meaningful impact on young musicians and to share the joy of music within her community and beyond.
