Darla Hausman

Darla Hausman has been a violinist and vocalist for over 20 years and has been teaching for the past seven years. She graduated from Hobe Sound Bible College in the Spring of 2023, with a concentration in violin performance/pedagogy as well as a concentration in vocal music education. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music in violin performance at UNCSA, under the teaching of Professor Kevin Lawrence.

From the time she was a little girl, Darla Hausman has always had a passion for music. Her enthusiasm for making music come to life in the classroom as well as on stage, stems from her days of living in Europe. It is Darla’s belief that all students, regardless of age, talent, or background can enjoy and benefit from the study of music.

Hausman joined ArtistCorps in the latter half of the 2024-2025 school year and is excited to be returning for the 2025-2026 season. Ms. Hausman also teaches Winston Salem Symphony’s string program, P.L.A.Y. (Piedmont Learning Academy for Youth). Darla’s past performance accomplishments include being a member of Cincinnati CommunityOr chestra from 2016-2019 and being principal second violinist of Wright States’ University Symphony Orchestra from 2019-2020. Her more recent accomplishments include being one of the winners of the 2021 Concerto Aria Competition, as well as being a pit musician for UNCSA’s productions of The Nutcracker and Die Fledermaus.
