Jake Bryant is an actor, singer, and writer hailing from Cary, North Carolina. After watching "Grease" at age 10 (and finding a new dream role in Rizzo) Jake knew they were destined to become a performer! Often cited as a spiritual successor to Elaine Stritch, Jake strives to work with a deft blend of humor and heart, and is especially drawn to telling stories that touch on their own experiences as an LGBTQ Southerner.
Jake is a lover of black coffee and RuPaul’s Drag Race, and when not acting, you can find them caring for their houseplants, working on a crossword puzzle, or perfecting their Miss Piggy impersonation (she won’t have job security for long!)
Highlights of their time at UNCSA include playing Madame Armfeldt in “A Little Night Music” and Bruce in “Beyond Therapy,” as well as their work on numerous short films with the UNCSA School of Filmmaking. Jake is incredibly grateful for their time at UNCSA, and is excited to dive headfirst into the next chapter of their journey!
