A newcomer to the area, Laken Hall is a first year MFA film student with a concentration in screenwriting.
Originally from Texas, Laken has spent some time working for her Councilmen. She was elected Vice Chair of the LGBTQ+ Advisory Board in San Antonio, Texas. And is a certified Special Education Teacher. While teaching Laken observed the impact media had on young children. Which inspired her to write children's television and film.
Laken also focuses on telling stories about marginalized communities. She hopes her work sheds light on communities whose stories can often go untold. Besides writing, Laken has a plethora of other hobbies including drawing, collecting pokemon cards, and yoga.
