Madelyn Pemberton

Madelyn Pemberton is a classically trained pianist, performing for nearly twenty years. Since beginning lessons at the age of five, Madelyn has performed with acclaimed ensembles and competed in numerous national and international music competitions.

Madelyn earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from James Madison
University and has recently completed her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. At JMU, Madelyn was intensely trained in all instrumental areas, including voice and conducting, and graduated with her license in instrumental education in the state of Virgina.

Madelyn has an extensive performance history competing in various national and international competitions, earning top prizes against musicians of all talents across the globe. Not only a successful soloist, Madelyn has also collaborated with both collegiate and professional ensembles, including the Piedmont Wind Symphony in Winston-Salem. She has performed in concerts for incredible audiences, including several world premieres.

Currently, Madelyn is finishing her last year at UNCSA as a PAC student
(Professional Artist Certificate) studying with Dr. Dmitri Shteinberg. At UNCSA, she teaches piano, ear training, and theory to both high school and undergraduate students. Upon graduation, Madelyn hopes to continue teaching various music classes at the collegiate level before applying for doctoral programs in piano pedagogy.
