Shine Pacis is a Filipino classical soprano from Singapore currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She is a recipient of the Kenan Excellence Scholarship and has performed in the United States and internationally, including at the Brevard Music Center in 2024 and the Colorado Vocal Arts Festival in 2026. She was also awarded first prize for Female Vocal Soloist at the All Asia Student Convention in Bangkok in 2024.
Growing up in Singapore, Shine was involved in all sorts of music-making: from choirs and church music to classical music, family karaoke, competitions, and even busking on the streets of Singapore with her keyboard. She loves that music can take so many different forms and bring people together in unexpected ways, and she hopes to carry that same openness and curiosity into her work as an artist.
Shine has also taught and coached young singers in Singapore and is excited to continue sharing her love of music with students and community members alike through ArtistCorps. She hopes to help others become more confident in their voices while sharing the same encouragement and joy that made her fall in love with music in the first place.
