Staff Enrichment offerings slated for January

Staff EnrichmentStaff Enrichment will be held Jan. 23 & 24 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. Programs will last one hour and be virtual unless otherwise noted.

Staff can choose self- or team-directed professional development in place of our monthly offerings, just be sure to work with your supervisor on details. Recordings of most prior workshops are available for use in self-directed enrichment time.

  • Engaging in Meaningful Conversations

    • One of the biggest hurdles in the work place is communication. People and teams have different styles and requirements for providing and receiving a message. Meeting each other on the right level is a learned skill we will address in this staff enrichment session.
  • Español-English Meetup: San Sebastian Street Festival

  • Creativity and Wellness

    • Stress reduction, unification of mind and spirit, and general wellness. Creative endeavors have all sorts of intangible benefits. This expansion of the craft circle looks to find new ways to provide wellness benefits from the creative world that surrounds us at UNCSA.

  • Advancing in Classification & Compensation and Career Banding

    • This course offers a comprehensive exploration of the evolution of Career Banding, competency profiles, and the distinctions between SHRA and EHRA classifications. Learn about the history and progression of career banding, gain an understanding of the role of HR in the classification realm and learn to navigate the UNC System Office guidelines. Note: this course will not cover entering positions in PeopleAdmin.
  • Vision Boards: Part 1 – Goal-Setting

    • In this first session in a two-part series, participants will set the stage for the year ahead both personally and professionally. The session aims to guide staff in self-discovery and goal-setting, allowing them to mentally picture their vision board to be completed in a February workshop.
  • School Dude: Facilities Work Order System

    • Facilities at UNCSA is a large department with an immense scope of work, all geared towards ensuring campus functions at peak performance. Given this scope, proper submission of work orders help the facilities management team stay organized and timely with all requests. In this session, staff will learn how to place a work order to address any issues that may arise.
  • Performance Hour

    • The entire campus community is welcome to attend these free, weekly performances showcasing student progress in the UNCSA School of Music. The pieces vary weekly and are determined by what students are working on this year. Be sure to register in order to receive updates on Performance Hour as they are available.
