Two university policies have been updated
The Office of Human Resources would like to inform the campus community of two important
policy updates: the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Policy and the SHRA Grievance Policy. We encourage all employees and supervisors to review these updates to ensure continued
understanding and compliance.
For the Adverse Weather and Emergency Events policy, there are three changes:
- Adding language related to teleworking expectations during events to be consistent with expectations in the OSHR Teleworking Policy.
- Clarifying that anyone on pre-approved leave during an event must still use the appropriate leave source for the approved absence.
- Extending the amount of time that mandatory employees have to use their adverse weather equal time off from 12 months to 18 months to align with OSHR agency policy.
For the SHRA Employee Grievance Policy, there are also three changes:
- There was a statutory change to add an employment preference for the National Guard as eligible for the formal grievance procedure.
- Clarification on which grievable issues are not eligible for the formal grievance procedure but are instead processed through the Informal Discussion / Informal Inquiry process or other alternative dispute resolution process determined by the institution.
- Edits to EEO references for consistency with current policy.
