Test of Alertus Desktop Notification, a new emergency alert feature

A laptop with a test UNCSA alert on the screenWe are pleased to announce the implementation of Alertus Desktop Notification, a new feature of our emergency notification system at UNCSA.

This software provides a direct and immediate way for the UNCSA Police Department to communicate important emergency information directly to your computer desktop. Alertus Desktop Notification has been automatically installed on all university-issued computers, ensuring that you receive critical alerts without delay.

To ensure the system is working properly, a test of the Alertus system will take place on Friday, Oct. 31 at noon.

What to Expect During the Test:
  • The alert will take over your computer screen and be accompanied by an audio voice message.
  • You must click "Acknowledge" to close the notification window.
  • Only users with a university-issued computer connected to the UNCSA network will receive the notification.
Please note: future tests are scheduled for the last Friday of October, January, and April at noon.
