Welcome to the UNCSA Virtual Festival of Dance 2021! This year’s Festival will be held virtually and will welcome dancers from across the state of North Carolina and the East coast. We will be offering students two exciting weekends of dance, featuring world class conservatory training from our esteemed UNCSA Faculty, alumni and other guest instructors from across the country.

Dates for this year’s Festival of Dance

Session I – January 29–31, 2021
Registration closes on January 22, 2021
Session II – February 5-7, 2021
Registration closes on January 29, 2021

Students may register for one or both sessions and there will be a discount for those who register before December 27. Students may also register for individual days. All times listed below are Eastern Standard Time (EST). 

Advanced and Intermediate students

Friday (Jan. 29 & Feb. 5) 3:30 - 6 p.m.
Saturday (Jan. 30 & Feb. 6)  9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Sunday (Jan. 31 & Feb. 7) 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

All students will receive a daily ballet technique class. Other classes may include pointe, men’s class, contemporary, composition, jazz, musical theatre, Pilates, Yoga or other conditioning classes. 

Young dancer program

Saturday (Jan. 30 & Feb. 6) 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Sunday (Jan. 31 & Feb. 7) 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

These classes will be offered as a program with a specialized curriculum designed specifically for students 11 -12 years of age. Each day will include a ballet technique class. Other classes may include pre-pointe, boy’s class, creative movement, jazz, and special conditioning classes.

  • Information sessions about UNCSA Summer and Academic year programs
  • Audition fee ($30) waived for UNCSA Summer Dance Intensive (for students attending FULL session)
  • Free Saturday and Sunday “Lunch and Learn” seminars covering a variety of subjects
  • Q & A with UNCSA Faculty and guest teachers 

Headliner Master Classes for advanced dancers only

Advanced students can register to take a ballet or contemporary master class with a prominent artist in today’s dance world. These two-hour classes will be held on Friday evenings from 7 - 9 p.m. and will include a special Q&A session. Students must be signed up for the entire weekend of classes in order to participate.

Advanced and Intermediate Saturday ONLY $75

Young dancer FULL session $125 ($100 before Dec. 27th)
