Jessie McGee serves as site lead and dance instructor for the Junior Appalachian Musicians program at the Community Music School. First introduced to Appalachian music and dance in college, she has spent years immersed in old-time and bluegrass communities and brings a love of old-time flatfooting to the role.
As a parent of young musicians herself, she values the joy, rhythm and sense of belonging this music fosters.
