Organ at University of North Carolina School of the Arts is a small, intimate program where you can pursue your passion for music while being prepared with a breadth of skills for a life as a professional musician – on the stage, in the church and beyond. Studying in a conservatory environment means you will have weekly private lessons with your major teacher, weekly performance classes and a curriculum with a strong emphasis on hymn-playing and improvisation. Performance opportunities abound, both on campus and in the larger community with a thriving organ culture.
Organ at UNCSA offers a high school diploma, undergraduate Bachelor of Music degree, graduate Master of Music degree and post-graduate Performing Artist Certificate.
The ninth annual North Carolina High School Organ Festival will utilize the superb instruments of Augsburg Lutheran Church, Salem College and UNCSA.
High school organists from North Carolina, Indiana and Tennessee will compete and participate in workshops and masterclasses at UNCSA, Salem College and Augsburg Lutheran Church.
