The 2022-23 Excellence in Teaching Awards process is now accepting nominations of both full-time permanent and adjunct faculty members who are making an exceptional impact on teaching. UNCSA faculty, students, or alumni may nominate a teacher for consideration.

The award for full-time permanent faculty carries a $2,500 stipend, a formal citation, and public recognition. Recipients of the Excellence in Teaching Award who have been teaching at UNCSA for at least seven years are then considered for the UNC Board of Governors (BOG) award that recognizes excellent and exceptional teaching over a sustained period. The one institutional BOG award honoree receives a $12,500 stipend, a commemorative bronze medallion, and special recognition at the UNCSA commencement ceremonies. Both awards are prestigious distinctions for individuals whose extraordinary efforts have made UNCSA a better place.

The award for adjunct faculty carries a $1500 stipend, a formal citation, and public recognition.

Review the award requirements to determine eligibility, and submit a nomination if you know a faculty member who deserves such recognition. The deadline for nominations is extended to Oct. 10, 2022.
