Costume designs by Christina GianniniVisit the UNCSA Archives exhibit "Choreography by Alvin Ailey, Costumes by Christina Giannini" during Black History Month to experience the legacy of pioneering choreographer Alvin Ailey and costume designer Christina Giannini — the first costume and scenic designer at UNCSA.

The exhibit is located in the Archives breezeway on the UNCSA Library's third floor and is open now till Feb. 28.

This exhibit celebrates the legacy of pioneering choreographer Alvin Ailey through costume designs by Christina Giannini. Giannini was the university's first costume and scenic designer and designed numerous works for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

Additionally, the exhibit features Giannini's designs for four of Ailey's notable works and selected resources about Ailey and Black dance in America — provided by the Library collections.
