UNCSA to hold commencement ceremonies at Truist Stadium on May 22

The University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) will hold in-person commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 22, at Truist Stadium, home of the Winston-Salem Dash Minor League baseball team, Chancellor Brian Cole announced. The high school ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. and the university ceremony will begin at 4 p.m.

Ceremonies will follow COVID-19 safety protocols and will adhere to state restrictions in place at the time of the events. The university Class of 2020 will be invited to participate in this year’s university commencement along with the Class of 2021.

I look forward to this chance to reflect on the tremendous accomplishments of our students, honor the traditions of our past commencements, and create new ones together.

Chancellor Brian Cole

Chancellor Cole said, “I am very excited to announce that we will hold in-person commencement ceremonies this spring, and we are fortunate to have found a great outdoor venue in Truist Stadium that will allow us to do so safely. We are thrilled to bring back this important and time-honored tradition as restrictions due to the pandemic begin to ease. I look forward to this chance to reflect on the tremendous accomplishments of our students, honor the traditions of our past commencements, and create new ones together.”

Further details will be announced at a later date.
