Caroline Bonnette was born and raised in Greenville, North Carolina. She discovered her passion for dance at the Greenville Civic Ballet, where she trained extensively in classical ballet, as well as contemporary, jazz, tap, musical theatre, and hip-hop. Over time, her curiosity about movement and expression beyond the classical form led her to focus on contemporary dance. In 2022, she began pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
During her time at UNCSA, Caroline had the privilege of studying under esteemed faculty members, including Brenda Daniels, Abby Yager, Ming-Lung Yang, Kira Blazek-Ziaii, Emily Nicolaou, Kate Jewett, and Savannah Spratt. She has performed both original and restaged works by Darrell Grand Moultrie, Merce Cunningham, Yvonne Rainer, José Limón, Ming-Lung Yang, Gaspard Louis, Brenda Daniels, Juel D. Lane, and Stewart/Owen Dance.
Rooted in versatile contemporary and modern training, the diversity of works she has performed continues to shape her curiosity and ever-evolving artistic voice. Beyond her conservatory training, Caroline has continued to expand her artistry through summer intensives at Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Orsolina28, where she performed repertory by Peter Chu.
Upon graduation, she aspires to dance and perform professionally, where she can continue exploring movement as a means of storytelling, connection, and evolution.
