D. Austin is a Stage Properties student with a focus on props management and artisanship. As a student they have been able to build their craft, soft goods, paint, and carpentry skills through classes and working on productions. These skills enable them to become a well rounded and knowledgeable props manager that can lead teams, instruct artisans, budget shows and collaborate with other departments.
Austin’s favorite part of the production process is watching everyone’s hard work come together. Most of their experience is in theatre and they have worked on a variety of stages ranging from smaller black box shows, to thrust stages, to outdoor theatre and are excited to branch out to more live performances.
