Dearion Clyburn

Dearion Clyburn, from Greenville, SC is currently a senior at UNCSA, earning her B.F.A. in contemporary dance. Before attending UNCSA, Dearion studied dance at Winthrop University for one year. She found her passion for dance through growing up dancing in church.

Dearion has performed works by José Limón, Robert Battle, Andrew Harper, Ming Yang, Wessley Williams and Anthony Lee Bryant. Her course work has provided training from notable faculty such as Brenda Daniels, Sean Sullivan, Abby Yager, Dayna Fox, Angelina Sansone and Kira Blazek-Ziaii.

During her time at UNCSA, she has studied ballet, contemporary, cunningham, West African, counter-technique, partnering, Limon Technique, dance history, contemporary dance pedagogy, music history, music theory and career preparation. Dearion has developed a great passion for choreography over the past few years and she is so excited to explore her range as a creator/mover and see how far her passion for dance and choreography takes her.
