Gabby is a director, actor and arts educator who grew up outside Charlotte, NC. She attended Central Academy of Technology and Arts through the theatre academy prior to coming to UNCSA for a B.F.A. in Directing. Living in between city and rural, she’s collected a conglomerate of experiences in many different theatrical roles from actress to scenic designer to theatre camp counselor and more. However, she has always been drawn to the indubitable power of connection within theatrical directing.
As a director, Gabby is interested in joyfully exploring intimacy and connection in our disconnected world through the vulnerable and awe-inspiring art form that is live theatre. She is often drawn to what is beautifully disgusting, “taboo”, or messy. She hopes that through fully embracing our “imperfections” we can better capture the essence of humanity and in turn breed more open-minded communities.
While at UNC School of the Arts she’s assisted Dean John Langs on "A Little Night Music: and Mina Oelrich on "The Moors." Her solo directing projects include a scene from "Five Times in One Night" by Chiara Atik and an upcoming excerpt from "Three Sisters" translated by Sarah Ruhl.
