Lilly Morton

Lilly Morton is a second-year undergraduate BFA Contemporary Dance major in the School of Dance. She began dancing at the age of three and has a passion for performing, choreography, and continued learning about her art form. As a Student Ambassador, she enjoys sharing her UNCSA experience, meeting new people, and helping prospective students discover what makes this conservatory so unique. Lilly is excited to share her love for UNCSA and all that it has to offer.

What brought you to UNCSA?

UNCSA has been a dream of mine since I attended the Summer Dance Intensive at twelve years old. From that experience, I knew there was something incredibly special about this school and its community. I immediately felt at home. UNCSA is the only place where I am challenged, seen for my abilities, easily inspired, and where I feel supported and encouraged to grow without judgement. The extraordinary faculty here truly care and want to see me succeed in life and my art form.

What advice would you give to Prospective Students?

My best advice is do not compare yourself to others. I know that is easier said than done, but everyone’s journey is completely different and should never look the same. Focus on your own growth and always remember that you belong and do not have to be at the same place as someone else. You are here to constantly evolve and become to the most authentic version of yourself.
