Maximilian is a multi-disciplinary theater director, performer, and artist who was raised on the Jersey Shore. Spending much of his time traveling to New York City with his parents to see theater, he knew from a young age that his calling was in the arts. He is elated to be taking the next step in his journey as an artist by pursuing his undergraduate degree in directing.
He is beyond grateful to have been invited to join the beautiful community of artists in the school of drama and is looking forward to fostering an environment with his actors that encourages collaborative dialogue and shared understanding of what it means to be human in our ever-changing society. He is an alumnus of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, where he was encouraged to explore his strengths as an artist through theatre. Professionally, he directed the world premiere of David Meenan’s new play Curtsey, alongside his producing work as a TEDx organizer, providing a platform for ideas worth spreading in his communities.
So far at UNCSA, he has assisted Broadway director Sarna Lapine on the premiere of a new version of Almost Famous, and next semester will assist on The Three Musketeers directed by Jason Bohon and Eternal Life Part 1 directed by Helen Hayes award winner Aaron Posner. This semester, he makes his Director’s Fest debut with Where the Fireworks Come From by Michael Pisaturo, a piece that explores the effects of small-town suburbia on two boys daring to dream differently.
