Olivia Nymeyer is an actor, writer, musician, and singer originally from Seattle, Washington, though she spent much of her childhood moving around the country, including places such as Florida, Texas, California, Arkansas, and Arizona. Coming from a family with no immediate background in the arts, Olivia discovered acting by accident while fulfilling a required school credit. What began with intense stage fright has grown into a deep sense of comfort in sharing art and the connection it creates between people. After attending public high school, she found her way to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she is completing her BFA in Drama. As an artist, Olivia seeks to inspire introspection through authenticity and honesty, making the intangible tangible to reveal the complex beauty of human nature.
Over the past four years, Olivia has embraced the opportunity to explore her craft both onstage and off. Her UNCSA credits include Liz Essendine in Present Laughter, Bessie in The Rose Tattoo, and currently Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, as well as roles in student films including Aphasia and Play Dead. During her second year at UNCSA, she wrote, produced, and directed the one-woman show Crash, and she is currently preparing to bring another original work, Boddah, to the stage in the spring as part of the Keys to the Kingdom series.
Outside of acting, Olivia is a lifelong guitar player, having played since the third grade, and an avid reader and writer of various forms of literature. She also loves spending time in nature and gardening, often finding joy in the intimate and quiet parts of life.
