Sophie Bennett is a 3rd year undergraduate in the Contemporary Dance program. She also attended UNCSA for her senior year of high school studying Contemporary Dance. She grew up in a small town in Oregon where she studied ballet for 12 years. At seventeen she moved to North Carolina to expand her conception of the art industry.
What is your fondest memory on campus and why?
Driving to school, getting to class, and having the honor of dancing with the most incredibly talented people who I not only admire as artists but as humans.
What advice would you give to prospective students?
My advice to prospective students is to not be too hard on yourself. It's going to get tiring, but remember that you're here for a reason! No matter your doubts, fears and challenges along the way, ground yourself with the passion you have for your art.
