New UNC Legal Plans through MetLife
As part of the University’s ongoing commitment to enhance the benefits we offer and
to better support the evolving needs of our workforce, we are pleased to announce
the introduction of a new voluntary after-tax benefit: UNC Legal Plans through MetLife
Starting in 2026, eligible employees will have access to legal assistance services
via MetLife, offered as an optional benefit. This initiative aligns with our goal
of ensuring that faculty and staff have access to relevant, supportive resources in
both their personal and professional lives. You will be able to enroll on the Empyrean Portal.
