Update to Hazing Regulation

A scenic shot of UNCSAWe would like to share an important update regarding hazing regulations in North Carolina.

Effective Dec. 1, 2025, North Carolina’s hazing law, G.S. 14-35, also known as Harrison’s Law, was amended to strengthen anti-hazing protections. The updated law expands the definition of hazing and increases penalties for violations, with particular emphasis on accountability for school personnel. In response to these changes, the University’s Hazing Regulation has been updated to align with the revised law. The updated regulation is now available on our website.

We encourage all members of the campus community to review the updated regulation and remain committed to fostering a safe and respectful environment for all.
