Staff Enrichment offerings slated for February

An image of a lightbulb and a personStaff Enrichment will be held Feb. 17 & 18 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m., with a few exceptions.  Programs will last one hour and be virtual unless otherwise noted.  

Please remember that Staff Enrichment is for eight hours of time per month, so you may not be able to attend everything. Be sure to work with your supervisor to ensure sessions work with work schedules. 

Staff can choose self- or team-directed professional development in place of our monthly offerings, just be sure to work with your supervisor on details. Recordings of most prior workshops are available for use in self-directed enrichment time. 

If you are unable to attend the February sessions, save the date and mark your calendars to ensure that you can attend future sessions! The upcoming staff enrichment schedule is as follows: 

  • Tuesday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. and Wednesday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. 
  • Tuesday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. and Wednesday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. 
  • Tuesday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. and Wednesday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m.

  • Description: Join us for a session focused on promoting wellness and supporting mental health. Explore practical strategies, resources, and habits that can help you maintain balance, manage stress, and foster a healthy school community. 

Kenan Overview

  • 2-3 p.m. 
  • Hosted by Kevin Bitterman, Executive Director of the Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts

  • Description: Join us for a session focused on an overview of the Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts.  

Stage Management: Facilitating the Artistic Journey from Script to Stage

  • 3-4 p.m. 
  • Hosted by Trey Mazza, Production Stage Manager for "Cyrano De Bergerac"
  • Location: Teams 
  • Description: Trey Mazza, a 4th-year undergraduate Stage Manager, will present attendees with a general overview of the roles and responsibilities assumed by a Stage Management team during the course of a production’s lifespan. Various media and real-life examples will accompany the conversation for added context.

Byte-Sized Tech: Outlook CoPilot

  • Description: Come In and Taste What Copilot Can Do. Välkommen till bordet! Think of this session as a Swedish smorgasbord where every dish has a Copilot twist. You stroll through a long table of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and Teams. Each stop gives you a quick taste of how Copilot lightens your workload, answers questions, and handles the tasks you usually juggle on your own. You fill your plate with small bites, try new things, and discover fresh ways to work with less effort and more clarity. A full buffet of Copilot tricks waits for you.  Smaklig måltid! 

New Faces and a New Request Form in StratComm

  • Description: Join us for a session to welcome two new members of the Strategic Communications team and get to know their roles. We’ll also walk through our new SINGULAR StratComm request form, so you know when, why, and how to use it moving forward. 

Performance Hour

  • 2:30-3:30 p.m. 
  • Hosted by UNCSA School of Music 
  • Location: Crawford Hall 
  • Description: The entire campus community is welcome to attend these free, weekly performances showcasing student progress in the UNCSA School of Music. The pieces vary weekly and are determined by what students are working on this year. Be sure to register in order to receive updates on Performance Hour as they are available. 

Improvised Music & Jazz Fest

  • Description: Steve Alford to give updates on the exponential growth of the Improvised Music and Jazz (IMJ) Studio, including new adjunct faculty, this year's 2026 IMJ Festival coming in March, and the exciting plans for next year. 

Casual Walk/Run Along the Greenway

  • Location: UNCSA Campus - Library Bike Rack 
  • Description: Come out and join for a casual walk or run; no one will be left behind. Faster folks can run ahead while others focus on fundamentals – and having fun doing it! Join your colleagues and have some fun while doing something healthy for your body and mind.
