Staff Enrichment Sessions Scheduled for March
Staff Enrichment will be held March 17 & 18 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m., with
a few exceptions. Programs will last one hour and be virtual unless otherwise noted.
Please remember that Staff Enrichment is for eight hours of time per month, so you may not be able to attend everything. Be sure to work with your supervisor to ensure sessions work with work schedules.
Staff can choose self- or team-directed professional development in place of our monthly offerings, just be sure to work with your supervisor on details. Recordings of most prior workshops are available for use in self-directed enrichment time, and can be accessed through the Staff Enrichment website.
If you are unable to attend the March sessions, save the date and mark your calendars to ensure that you can attend future sessions! The upcoming staff enrichment schedule is as follows:
- Tuesday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. and Wednesday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m.
- Tuesday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. and Wednesday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m.

D&P and School of Music
- 2-3 p.m.

- Description: An opera about a dove who is about to become a dinner for a former lover. Sounds crazy! But that is just what the opera La Colombe (The Dove) is about. Rather than putting a wedding dove from a craft store in a cage, I realized that we have a fantastic animatronics department and the possibility of a collaboration would be fun and exciting. We can tell you all about how this came to be and more at your next Staff Enrichment Meeting.
Wednesday, March 18
Byte-Sized Tech: Copilot Excel
- 10-11 a.m.
- Hosted by Gary Penrod, Director of Financial Systems
- Location: Teams
- Description: The Case of the Curious Spreadsheet. You open a spreadsheet that feels more like a cold case than a clean report. Numbers do not line up. Answers take too long. You know the truth is in there somewhere. In this one-hour session, you step in as Nancy Drew. Excel becomes your case file. Copilot Pro becomes the partner (sorry Bess, George, and Ned) who reads the evidence faster than you can. You ask plain questions. Copilot suggests formulas, explains what the data is telling you, and flags patterns you might miss. You test ideas quickly instead of guessing. You document conclusions without starting from scratch. This session shows you what changes when Copilot joins the investigation. Less manual work. Fewer false leads. Clear answers backed by data. You leave knowing not just how Copilot works, but why Excel feels incomplete without it.
