I love incorporating the ukulele when teaching first and second grade. It helps them
retain the material and adds a fun and musical aspect to our arts integration. I remember
the first day I brought my ukulele into the classroom and all the students became
very silent. A few of them asked if it was a guitar. Mostly the children are more
open to singing and being involved when music is a part of the lesson. I hope that
they will continue to learn and grow as the year goes on.
