One of my absolute favorite things to do with ArtistCorps is introduce students to
real working professionals within the industry. It gives them so much perspective
on how the arts are a viable career choice. So, I brought in film faculty Scott Ressler to teach them about his several decades-long career as a cinematographer. He showed
them clips from his work, ranging from David Lynch films to the iconic Thriller music
video. Even a brief exposure to a professional like him in a classroom setting greatly
improves the young students’ relationship to the arts. I hope we get to do more presentations
like this soon and that more faculty get to join in on the fun.
