The alarm rings, and you think to yourself if only I could get a couple more minutes
of sleep! But the thing that gets you out of bed in the morning is thinking about
how much these kids depend on you. We see them every day for a whole school year and
it's hard not get to know them and care about their well-being. I get up because I
know how disappointed they will be if they can't play our game that day. That's a
part of their schedule and they are planning on it. If an ArtistCorps member can't
make it to the site that day, the other members can hear the disappointment in the
students' voices when they learn one of our team is not coming. It really motivates
you get out of bed.
